## What is Nano Banana 2?

Google launched Nano Banana 2, officially Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, on 26 February 2026. Google’s pitch is Pro-level image generation and editing “at Flash speed”: much of what Nano Banana Pro does, made quickly enough for rapid iteration. Google highlights:

- **World knowledge.** It draws on Gemini’s knowledge to render real subjects more accurately, and to make infographics, diagrams and data visualisations.
- **Text rendering and translation.** Legible text for mock-ups and cards, and translating or localising the text inside an image.
- **Subject consistency.** In the Gemini app, Google says it keeps up to five characters and up to ten objects consistent in one workflow, which helps with storyboards.
- **Precise instruction following.** It sticks more closely to complex requests.
- **Production-ready sizes.** A wide range of aspect ratios and resolutions.

Google sums up the split like this: Nano Banana Pro for high-fidelity tasks that need maximum factual accuracy, and Nano Banana 2 for rapid generation and precise instruction following. Nano Banana 2 Lite is Google’s fastest and most efficient Gemini image model.

### How much does Nano Banana 2 cost?

We don't charge anything extra for Nano Banana 2. It's part of every PromptWise plan, starting at $19 a month, and every model is available as soon as you sign up. Each image is paid for from your plan's monthly credits, and the amount changes with the resolution and how many images you make in one go. Our pricing page lists the current figures, and the Generate button shows the cost before anything runs.

### How do I use Nano Banana 2?

Make a PromptWise account, go to Studio and switch to image. In the model menu, pick Nano Banana and then Nano Banana 2. Choose an aspect ratio, a resolution of 1K, 2K or 4K and the number of images, type your prompt (Wise can build out a short one) and press Generate.

### What is Nano Banana 2 best for?

Quick, frequent work where you want plenty of options: social posts, thumbnails, storyboard frames, simple diagrams and early ad concepts. Google built it for speed and close instruction following, so it suits trying an idea several ways. When one image turns into a hero shot or has to carry a lot of text, we remake it on Nano Banana Pro.

### What's the difference between Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana 2 Lite?

Nano Banana 2 Lite is Google's fastest Gemini image model, and in PromptWise it makes 1K images only. Nano Banana 2 goes up to 4K, so it's the one for images you'll actually publish. We use Lite for rough ideas and lots of quick variations, then move to Nano Banana 2 once the direction is settled. Both sit in the same Nano Banana menu on every plan.

### How should I write prompts for Nano Banana 2?

Name the subject precisely, especially a real place or product, and put any words you want in the picture inside quotation marks along with where they sit. Set the aspect ratio before you write. For a series, describe each character in identical words every time. Then change one thing per run; Nano Banana 2 is quick enough that small steps pay off.
