Kling 3.0 vs Veo 3.1: which AI video model should you use?

By Daniel Riley · Published · Updated

In short: Kling 3.0 is the pick for realistic people, fast motion and readable logos, on clips of 3 to 15 seconds at up to 4K. Veo 3.1 is the pick when sound has to stay in sync with the picture, such as dialogue or an effect on cue, on clips of 4, 6 or 8 seconds at up to 4K. Both are on every PromptWise plan from $19 a month.

Kling comes from Kuaishou and Veo from Google DeepMind. Both make video with sound, both reach 4K in PromptWise, and both take a start and an end frame. The real differences are clip length, what each model is tuned for, and how much control you have over the sound.

What is Kling 3.0?

Kling is Kuaishou’s video line, and version 3.0 arrived on 5 February 2026. Set against Veo, three of Kuaishou’s launch claims stand out: photoreal people with expressive performances, characters and objects that hold steady from shot to shot, and readable text such as signage or a logo on a shirt. Kling 3.0 talks too, with native speech in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, on clips of up to 15 seconds.

Choose Kling in the PromptWise menu and you’ll see Kling 3.0 at 720p, 1080p (Pro) and 4K, the quicker Kling 3.0 Turbo, Kling 3.0 Motion Control for driving a character’s movement (3–30 seconds, silent), Kling Omni and Kling 2.5 Turbo. Kling 4.0 is coming to PromptWise soon.

What is Veo 3.1?

Veo 3.1 is the current version of Google DeepMind’s video model, and sound is the point of it. Google’s line is “Video, meet audio”: speech, effects and background noise come out of the same pass as the picture. Next to Veo 3, Google lists richer audio, closer prompt adherence, a better feel for cinematic styles and stronger image-to-video.

In PromptWise it comes as Veo 3.1 Quality for final takes, Veo 3.1 Fast for everyday clips (still with 4K) and Veo 3.1 Lite for quick tests at 720p or 1080p.

Clip length

Kling 3.0 lets you pick any length from 3 to 15 seconds, so one generation can hold a whole product reveal or a full hook-and-payoff ad. Veo 3.1 clips are 4, 6 or 8 seconds. That suits a single beat (one line of dialogue, one action), and a longer scene means generating several clips and cutting them together.

Sound, dialogue and timing

Sound is where Veo 3.1 is strongest. Google built it around audio that matches the action: a door slams on the frame it closes, footsteps follow the walk, a line of dialogue fits the mouth. For short dialogue scenes, Veo 3.1 is usually the quicker route to something that feels finished. Google is also open about a limit: natural, consistent speech, “particularly for shorter speech segments”, is still an area it’s improving, so listen to every line before you publish.

Kling 3.0 generates speech and sound too, and Kuaishou says it can handle dialogue between several characters in different languages. In PromptWise you can switch Kling 3.0’s sound off, which helps when you plan to add music or an Elevenlabs v4 voiceover in the edit. Veo 3.1 always generates sound.

Prompt: A chef in a small restaurant kitchen flips a pan of vegetables, flames flare up, she laughs and says “Two minutes, table four!”, 16:9.

People, motion and realism

Kling’s reputation is built on realistic people and physical motion, and Kuaishou’s pitch for 3.0 leads with photorealism and lifelike performances. For sport, dance, a runner, a crowd, or anything where bodies move fast, start with Kling 3.0. Veo 3.1 produces realistic, cinematic footage too, with Google pointing to better prompt adherence and style understanding; it shines on composed shots where camera, light and sound all matter.

Prompt: A dancer spins across a rain-soaked rooftop at night, city lights behind her, camera circling slowly, water spraying from her feet.

Text, logos and products

For product videos where a logo or label must stay legible, Kling 3.0 is the first one to try, because Kuaishou specifically calls out accurate text and branded elements in Video 3.0. With either model, a clean start frame of the product (made with Nano Banana Pro, for example) gives the best chance of keeping packaging and text right.

Prompt: A can of sparkling water labelled “FJORD” rotates slowly on a wet slate surface, droplets running down, studio lighting, label readable throughout.

Resolution, formats and speed

Both reach 4K in PromptWise: choose Kling 3.0 4K, or Veo 3.1 Quality or Fast at 4K. Kling 3.0 adds a 1:1 square option; Veo 3.1 offers 16:9 and 9:16. For quick tests, use Kling 3.0 Turbo or Veo 3.1 Lite, then make the final take on the full model.

Use Kling 3.0 and Veo 3.1 on one plan

Outside PromptWise, Kling and Veo come from two different companies. Here they share one video menu: every plan, from Starter up, includes Kling 3.0 and all three Veo 3.1 versions among its 40+ models, and every model is available as soon as you sign up. This is what each plan gives you a month:

PlanPriceCredits per monthImages and videos at once
Starter$19/month2752
Plus$39/month8004
Pro (most popular)$79/month1,8006
Max (best value)$149/month3,8008

Max 2 and Max 3 raise the monthly allowance to 6,500 credits ($249) and 9,500 credits ($349). Paying by the year saves up to 45%; prices are in USD and don’t include VAT.

Clip prices change with the version you choose (Kling 3.0 4K or Kling 3.0 Turbo, say, or Veo 3.1 Quality or Lite), the length and the resolution. Current figures are on PromptWise pricing and models, and the Generate button confirms the cost of each clip before it starts. Unused credits lapse at the end of each billing month. When a clip fails, its credits are refunded automatically; the billing, cancelling and refunds page has the details.

How to compare them yourself in PromptWise

  1. Sign up, then open Studio in video mode. Every plan carries both models.
  2. Start with Kling: choose Kling 3.0, Kling 3.0 Pro or Kling 3.0 4K.
  3. Set Veo’s limits first so the test is fair: 16:9 or 9:16, and 4, 6 or 8 seconds. Then write the prompt and generate.
  4. Change the model to Veo 3.1 Quality, Fast or Lite, leave the prompt alone and run it again.
  5. Judge the sound as well as the picture. Play both with audio on; Veo 3.1 always has sound, while Kling 3.0’s can be off, so check which setting you used. Both clips stay in Studio, and the Generate button showed each cost first.
