Seedance 2.5 vs Kling 3.0: which AI video model should you use?
By Daniel Riley · Published · Updated
In short: Seedance 2.5 is the pick for longer scenes and reference-heavy work: one generation makes 4 to 30 seconds of video with sound. Kling 3.0 is the pick for realistic people, fast motion, readable logos and 4K, on clips of 3 to 15 seconds. Both are on every PromptWise plan from $19 a month, so you can run the same prompt on each and keep the better take.
ByteDance makes Seedance and Kuaishou makes Kling. The two overlap a lot: both make video with sound from text or a start image, both handle people well, and both sit in the same PromptWise video menu. Where they differ is length, resolution and what each one is tuned for.
Both models are on the $19 Starter plan and every plan above it. Every model is available as soon as you sign up. See plans

What is Seedance 2.5?
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance’s newest video model, released on 31 July 2026. It builds on Seedance 2.0’s unified audio-video architecture, which makes picture and sound together. ByteDance’s headline change is length: up to 30 seconds in a single pass, up from 15. It also accepts many more references (up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips), and ByteDance describes smoother motion and more realistic visuals than before.
In PromptWise, Seedance 2.5 is one of five Seedance models, alongside Seedance 2.0 (up to 4K), 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro.
What is Kling 3.0?
Kuaishou launched Kling 3.0 on 5 February 2026. Its announcement lists stronger consistency for characters, objects and scenes, photorealistic output with lifelike performances, clips of up to 15 seconds, and native audio with speech in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. Kuaishou also highlights text that stays sharp in the video, such as a logo on a character’s shirt, which it calls out for e-commerce ads.
In PromptWise, Kling 3.0 comes in three quality levels (Kling 3.0 at 720p, Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p and Kling 3.0 4K), plus Kling 3.0 Turbo for quicker drafts, Kling 3.0 Motion Control for moving a character with specific motion (3–30 seconds, without sound), Kling Omni and Kling 2.5 Turbo. Kling 4.0 is coming to PromptWise soon.
Clip length and storytelling
This is the clearest difference. Seedance 2.5 can make a 30-second scene in one generation, with its sound, which means one take for a whole product demo or a short story beat. Kling 3.0 tops out at 15 seconds, which is plenty for most social ads, hooks and B-roll, but a longer scene means joining clips in an editor.
If your idea is a single continuous moment longer than 15 seconds, start on Seedance 2.5. If it’s a series of short shots, length won’t decide it.
Realism, people and motion
Both models make convincing people. Kling has built its reputation on realistic humans and fast, physical motion (sport, dance, action), and Kuaishou’s own pitch for 3.0 leads with photorealism and expressive performances. Seedance 2.5 is strong on natural movement across a whole scene, and it takes far more references in one generation (up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips). Kling 3.0 does people well, but when we have a product shot, a character sheet and a voice clip to work from, Seedance 2.5 takes them all in one generation. That’s why we start there.
Use the same prompt on both for a scene that matters; differences show most in hands, fast action and faces close to camera.
Prompt: A skateboarder carves through an empty concrete bowl at golden hour, camera tracking low beside her, wheels roaring on concrete, 9:16.
Sound and speech
Both models generate sound with the picture: ambience, effects and speech.
- Seedance 2.5 can also lip-sync a character to your audio. Give it an image of the character and an audio clip, for example a voiceover made with Elevenlabs v4 in the same studio, and it makes the character speak those words.
- Kling 3.0 generates speech natively, and Kuaishou says it handles several languages and multi-character dialogue. In PromptWise you can switch Kling 3.0’s sound off when you plan to add music or a voiceover later.
Prompt: A barista in a busy café looks into the camera and says “This is the only oat latte worth crossing town for”, steam hissing behind her, 9:16.
Text and logos
If a logo or product name must stay readable as the camera moves, Kling 3.0 is the safer first choice: Kuaishou specifically says Video 3.0 keeps text such as signage, captions and branded elements accurate. Seedance 2.5 can keep a product consistent when you give it reference images, but for small text on a moving subject, test both.
Prompt: A runner in a white T-shirt printed with the word “NORTHLINE” jogs towards the camera along a seafront path, morning light, logo clearly readable throughout.
Resolution and formats
Kling 3.0 goes up to 4K (choose Kling 3.0 4K in the menu); Seedance 2.5 goes up to 1080p. For 4K from Seedance, use Seedance 2.0, which runs up to 15 seconds. Seedance 2.5 offers six aspect ratios, including 21:9 for a cinematic frame and 4:3 or 3:4 for feeds; Kling 3.0 offers 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1.
References and control
Seedance 2.5 is the more flexible model when you have material to work from: product photos, a character sheet, a music track or a voice clip can all go in as references. Kling 3.0 in PromptWise takes a start frame and an end frame, which is a simple way to control where a shot begins and lands. To move a character with specific motion, use Kling 3.0 Motion Control; for more reference images, use Kling Omni.

Plans and credits for both models
There’s no need for a ByteDance account and a Kuaishou one. Both models sit in the same PromptWise video menu on every plan, Starter included, alongside the rest of the 40+ image, video and audio models. Clips are paid for from the monthly allowance below:
| Plan | Price | Credits per month | Images and videos at once |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $19/month | 275 | 2 |
| Plus | $39/month | 800 | 4 |
| Pro (most popular) | $79/month | 1,800 | 6 |
| Max (best value) | $149/month | 3,800 | 8 |
If 3,800 credits a month isn’t enough, Max 2 ($249 a month) brings 6,500 and Max 3 ($349) brings 9,500. A yearly subscription saves up to 45%. All prices are in US dollars, excluding VAT.
A long Seedance 2.5 take and a short Kling 3.0 hook can use different amounts, because a clip’s price follows the model, its length and its resolution. Check current figures on PromptWise pricing and models, or read the number on the Generate button before each run. Credits reset with each billing month and don’t carry over.
